This strictly limited set includes the first issue of the Big Five II Series - Elephant from the South African Mint and a rare special edition of the 2021 Krugerrand with a Privy Mark "Elephant". South Africa is justifiably proud of its extraordinary wildlife. The animals known as "Big Five" - Elephant - Lion - Buffalo - Rhino - Leopard - are landmarks and ambassadors of this culturally rich country and represent the African fauna. The Big Five gold coin features the impressive portrait of an elephant. The reverse depicts two halves of an elephant head. When two of the coins are placed next to each other, a complete close-up portrait of an elephant is visible. By placing many of these coins next to each other, a whole herd of elephants appears. In the center, the denomination "FIFTY RAND", the weight "1OZ" and the fineness "Au 999.9" are shown. The African elephant (Loxodonta africana) is probably the largest and most impressive representative of the African animal world, which generally stands for power and strength. The "gentle giant" is characterized by its excellent memory and a very pronounced social behavior. In the wild, the elephant can live up to 60 years - but to this day the threat from poachers remains great. The second coin in this set features the classic Krugerrand design and a Privy Mark with an elephant. Like all Krugerrand coins the reverse shows the portrait of South Africas first President Paul Kruger.
