This strictly limited set includes the fourth issue of the Big Five II Series - Leopard from the South African Mint and a rare special edition of the 2023 Krugerrand with a Privy Mark "Leopard". South Africa is justifiably proud of its extraordinary wildlife. The animals known as "Big Five" - Elephant - Lion - Buffalo - Rhino - Leopard - are landmarks and ambassadors of this culturally rich country and represent the African fauna.

The Big Five gold coin features the impressive portrait of a leopard. The reverse depicts two halves of a leopard's head. When two of the coins are placed next to each other, a complete close-up portrait of a leopard is visible. By placing many of these coins next to each other, an entire pack of leopards appears. In the center, the denomination "FIFTY RAND", the weight "1OZ" and the fineness "Au 999.9" are shown.

Together with lion, tiger and jaguar, the leopard (Panthera pardus) is one of the most graceful and powerful big cats. As a true survival artist, the lithe hunter can be found in the primeval forests of the African and Asian continents as well as in mountains, savannahs and semi-deserts.

The second coin in this set features the classic Krugerrand design and a Privy Mark with a leopard. Like all Krugerrand coins the reverse shows the portrait of South Africas first President Paul Kruger.
