The 2020 edition of the Wedge-Tailed Eagle is the fifth design from the famous engraver John M. Mercanti, the 12th Chief Engraver of the U.S. Mint. The motive features a magnificent Wedge-Tailed eagle swooping on its prey in the midst of a hunt. In addition the inscription "Wedge-Tailed Eagle", the year of issue, the fineness and the traditional Mintmark "P" of the Perth Mint are included in the design. The reverse shows the effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II as well as the denomination. The Wedge-Tailed eagle is one of the biggest eagles in the world. His impressive wings have a wingspan of up to 2.7 meters. The strictly limited Wedge-Tailed Eagle platinum proof coin is delivered in the original wooden box including a numbered certificate of authenticity from the Perth Mint.
