The Australian Kookaburra bullion coin is one of the most popular silver bullion coins worldwide. Since 1990 the Perth Mint has struck the Kookaburra in different weight units and with annually changing designs. In 2023 the motive features two kookaburras perched on branches. They are surrounded by the Waratah flower, a native flower species of Australia and the emblem flower of the state of New South Wales. The inscription "KOOKABURRA", the traditional mintmark "P" of the Perth Mint as well as the year of issue, the weight and the fineness complete the design. The reverse shows the Jody Clark effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II and the denomination.
The kookaburra is the largest member of the kingfisher family and the national bird of Australia. The coin was minted by the Perth Mint from one kilogram of 99.99% pure silver. The silver bullion coin is delivered in a protective capsule.
