African Ounce (16.) - Nile Crocodile
1 Oz Silver - Uncirculated
- 16th Issue in the African Ounce Series
- Bullion Coin
- 99.9% Silver
- Sealed in original plastic Foil
The sixteenth issue of the African Ounce Series from Rwanda is dedicated to the Nile Crocodile. The motive features an image of the African continent and a Nile crocodile with a young animal. The design also includes the inscriptions "AFRICAN OUNCE", "2023" and "1oz FINE SILVER 999". The reverse depicts the coat of arms of Rwanda. The Nile crocodile is one of the most famous crocodile species worldwide and has its origins on the entire African continent. Today, the reptile only lives in the upper reaches of the Nile and in scattered African waters. It can reach a total length of up to 6 meters and weigh up to 1000 kilograms. The Nile crocodile can be recognized by its dark bronze-green back, dotted with small black spots, and porcelain-coloured underside. Due to man-made threats, the Nile crocodile has been on the Red List of endangered species since 1973. The African Ounce Series with annually changing motive honors a different African species each year. The silver bullion coin is delivered sealed in the original plastic foil.
