The coin was struck by the Royal Australian Mint from one ounce of 99.9% silver with a mintage of only 25,000 pieces worldwide.
The Australian Antarctic Territory is an area in Antarctica to which the state of Australia has laid claim since June 13th, 1933 under the Australian Antarctic Territory Acceptance Act. With a size of 5,896,500 square kilometers, the territory is almost 80% the size of Australia itself. Among the most famous inhabitants of the icy continent are the emperor penguins. Of the 18 different penguin species, the emperor penguin is by far the largest and heaviest. He is especially easy to recognize by his ears covered with yellow spots and black and white plumage. Emperor penguins live far to the south of Antarctica, where their habitat is characterized primarily by cold waters, steep coasts and icy cliffs. According to recent counts by researchers and evaluations of satellite images, the population of the birds is considered stable, with an estimated number of more than 595,000 individuals in over 46 colonies. The limited silver bullion coin is delivered in a protective capsule.
INFO: If you order 10 coins, the coins are delivered in the original roll of the Royal Australian Mint.
