This 2025 Australian Emu coin from the Perth Mint was struck from one ounce of 99.99% pure silver in uncirculated quality. The motive in color features an emu standing on a grass-covered sand dune while the waves crash against the shore in the background. Also included in the design are the inscriptions “AUSTRALIAN EMU”, “2025”, the coin's fineness and the Perth Mint's “P” mintmark. The reverse depicts the portrait of King Charles III, as well as the denomination "1 DOLLAR" and the issuing state "AUSTRALIA".
Like the ostrich and kiwi, the emu belongs to the so-called ratite family. Because they are very large and heavy, they are unable to fly, but can run enduringly and fast. Emus are at home all over Australia. These adaptable animals can reach an age of up to 20 years and feed mainly on grass, flowers, seeds, fruits and insects. In terms of height, the Australian emu is the second largest bird in the world after the ostrich. The mintage of this coin is limited to only 2,500 pieces worldwide. The Australian Emu silver coin in color is delivered in the original box including a numbered certificate of authenticity from the Perth Mint.
