Celebrating the World Money Fair in Berlin, the Perth Mint has released this show special featuring the 2024 Australian Kookaburra design in vivid colors. The motive features a detailed depiction of a kookaburra flying over a gorge. It holds a captured snake in its claws. The design also includes a Privy Mark "Ampelmann". The inscription "KOOKABURRA", the mintmark "P125" for the 125th anniversary of the Perth Mint as well as the year of issue, weight and fineness complete the design. The reverse shows the Jody Clark portrait of Queen Elizabeth II as well as the years of her reign and the denomination.
The Kookaburra is the largest member of the kingfisher family and the national bird of Australia. The 2024 Australian Kookburra special release in color is limited to only 2,500 pieces worldwide and is delivered in an illustrated blistercard with the WMF Logo.
