The 2025 Wedge-Tailed Eagle silver coin in color was struck by the Perth Mint from one ounce of 99.99% pure silver in uncirculated quality. This year's Wedge-Tailed Eagle design is once again a collaboration with renowned US engraver John M. Mercanti and features a majestic wedge-tailed eagle in color. The motive is framed by the inscriptions “AUSTRALIAN WEDGE-TAILED EAGLE” and “2025 1oz 9999 SILVER”. Also included in the design is the traditional “P” mintmark of the Perth Mint. The reverse features the portrait of King Charles III and the denomination “1 DOLLAR”. The wedge-tailed eagle (Aquila audax) is the largest bird of prey in Australia and one of the largest eagles in the world. Native to Australia, Tasmania and southern New Guinea, the bird of prey can be recognized by its distinctive beak and the puffy feathers on its legs, which reach down to its toes. With a wingspan of up to 2.5 meters, the wedge-tailed eagle can cover long distances at dizzying heights of up to 2000 meters above sea level.
