This 2023 bullion coin from the Perth Mint is the third issue of the series dedicated to the Wombat. The coin was struck from one ounce of 99.99% pure silver and depicts a wombat surrounded by blooming craspedia flowers, which are also known as "Billy Buttons". The wombat is shown snoozing while a blue wren sits on its back. The weight and fineness, the year of issue, the mintmark "P" and the inscription "WOMBAT" are also included in the design. The reverse shows the effigy of Queen Elizabeth II, supplemented with the years of her reign, and the denomination "1 DOLLAR".

Wombats are common in Australia and Tasmania and feed mainly on grasses. The nocturnal marsupials are well known for their burrows crisscrossed by complex tunnel systems. The wide paws and long claws of wombats are made for digging. Thus, wombats build burrows up to 20 meters long and 3.5 meters deep in the earth. The limited Wombat silver bullion coin is delivered in a protective capsule.
