This Melbourne Money Expo Special Release is part of the Australian Lunar Series III from the Perth Mint is dedicated to the Year of the Dragon. The fifth issue of the 12-year Lunar III series was struck from a 1/4 ounce of silver and features a colored and detailed image of the mythical creature. Stylized waves and a flaming pearl surround the dragon. The design also includes the Chinese character for "Dragon", the inscription "DRAGON 2024" and the mintmark "P125" signifying The Perth Mint’s 125th anniversary. The reverse shows the portrait of Queen Elizabeth II, supplemented with the dates of her reign, the denomination and fineness.
