The 2024 coin set of the Australian Lunar Series III of the Perth Mint is dedicated to the Year of the Dragon and contains 9 silver coins in color and one gold-plated silver coin. The dragon is the fifth animal in the Chinese zodiac calendar. The fifth issue of the 12-year Lunar III Series features detailed depictions of the mythical creature. Stylized waves and a flaming pearl surround the dragon on each motive. The design also includes the Chinese character for "Dragon", the inscription "DRAGON 2024" and the mintmark "P125" signifying The Perth Mint’s 125th anniversary. The reverse shows the portrait of Queen Elizabeth II, supplemented with the dates of her reign, the denomination and fineness.
