The new release in the Australian Lunar Series III of the Perth Mint is dedicated to the Year of the Rabbit. Following the tiger, the rabbit is the fourth animal in the Chinese Zodiac calendar. The fourth issue of the 12-year Lunar III series features a colored image of a watchful rabbit with his ears erect next to another rabbit reaching out for a blooming twig. Also included in the design are the inscription "RABBIT 2023" and the traditional mintmark "P" of the Perth Mint. A special feature of this edition is a Privy Mark of 1 gram of pure gold, which represents the Chinese character for "rabbit". The reverse shows the portrait of Queen Elizabeth II, the denomination, the weight and the fineness. The Rabbit is popular everywhere and a good companion, distinguished especially by its patience and good nature. Rabbits are known for their sense of art and often make the right decisions based on their instincts. Despite their popularity, they shy away from change and are often insecure and rather pessimistic. The limited 1 Kilo Silver coin with Gold Privy Mark is delivered in the original box of the Perth Mint including a numbered certificate of authenticity.
