This Perth Stamp & Coin Show Special Release is part of the Australian Lunar Series III from the Perth Mint and is dedicated to the Year of the Snake. The snake is the sixth animal in the Chinese zodiac calendar. The sixth issue of the 12-year Lunar III series was struck from one ounce of 99.99% pure silver. The motive in color depicts two snakes aligned in parallel, which together form the Chinese character “Xi”, meaning “double happiness”. The design is completed by floral elements and the inscription “YEAR OF THE SNAKE 2025”. The reverse shows the portrait of King Charles III, the denomination, the weight and the fineness.
The double happiness symbol is often used as a decorative motive in the context of weddings and is intended to bring love, harmony, loyalty and happiness to the newly formed union between two people.
