The new issue of the Perth Mint's Australian Lunar Series III is dedicated to the Year of the Snake. The snake is the sixth animal in the Chinese zodiac calendar. The sixth issue of the 12-year Lunar III series in color presents a coiled, blue snake at the bottom, surrounded by hanging leaves. Also included in the design are the Chinese character for “snake”, the inscription “SNAKE 2025” and the Perth Mint´s “P” mintmark. The reverse of the coin features the Dan Thorne portrait of King Charles III as well as the weight, fineness and denomination.

The zodiac sign of the snake is said to have particularly strong intuition, wisdom, intelligence and good powers of observation.
