The new release in the Australian Lunar Series III of the Perth Mint is dedicated to the Year of the Tiger. Following the ox, the Tiger is the third animal in the Chinese Zodiac calendar. The third issue of the 12-year Lunar III series features a colored image of a tiger cub following its proud parent through a rocky and bamboo-covered terrain. Also included in the design are the inscription "TIGER 2022" and the traditional mintmark "P" of the Perth Mint. A special feature of this edition is a Privy Mark of 1 gram of pure gold, which represents the Chinese character for "tiger". The reverse shows the portrait of Queen Elizabeth II, the denomination, the weight and the fineness. The Tiger generally stands for courage, spiritedness and bravery and excels as a born leader privately and professionally. Tigers are very success-oriented, but can also be prone to impatience.
