Description
Australian Shipwreck Series (3.) - Zuytdorp
1 Oz Silver - Uncirculated
- 3rd Issue of the 4 coin Series 'Australian Shipwreck'
- Triangular-shaped bullion coin
- Mintage only 20,000 pieces
- Delivery in triangular-shaped Capsule
The third issue of the Australian Shipwreck Series is dedicated to the Zuytdorp. The triangular shaped bullion coin was struck by the Royal Australian Mint from one ounce of 99.9% silver. The motive shows the Zuytdorp in all its glory. It is framed by decorative maritime ornaments. The weight and fineness of the coin are also featured. The reverse depicts scenes from the dramatic history of the sailing ship that disappeared under mysterious circumstances after its departure in 1711. Only 200 years later a wreck on the west coast of Australia could be identified as the Zuytdorp - based on numerous silver coins found with the inscription "Zeeland" and "1711". The effigy of Queen Elizabeth II and the denomination are also part of the coin design. The limited silver bullion coin is delivered in a triangular capsule of the Royal Australian Mint. For investors the coins are delivered per 10 coins in the original roll, per 240 coins in the original Masterbox of the Mint.
