Myth - Legend - Saga. Robin Hood, a well-known hero from late medieval to early modern English poetry and ballads. From the dangerous highwayman in the middle of the 15th century over the Anglo-Saxon patriot to the champion of social justice during the 16th and 17th centuries. In the fight against social injustice he ran his robber craft with his "happy companions" Little John, Brother Tuck and Will Scarlet. As outlaws, they were forced to hide from the law in Sherwood Forest and Barnsdale Forest. Of course, this adventurous story was extended by the Maid Marian with the component of romantic love. Whether Robin Hood was ever more than a "hero in pantyhose" and whether he existed as a real historical person, could not be proven until today. For the 825th anniversary of the first Vienna mint and as a completion of the three-part series, Austria dedicates this bullion coin to the much-hyped hero. The silver coin of 99.9% pure silver shows the outlaw youth in his most famous pose - with bow and arrow and his hood. The reverse of the anniversary coin is adorned with the Equestrian Seal of Leopold V. The silver coin from one ounce of silver is delivered in a blistercard from the Austrian Mint.
