The Premium bullion coin was struck from one ounce of 99.9% silver and is dedicated to the most famous ship in the history of discovery - the Santa Maria. The motive features the ship on its historic voyage through the Atlantic Ocean. Also included in the design are the denomination and the inscription "SANTA MARIA". The reverse shows the portrait of Queen Elizabeth II and the year of issue.

Along with the much smaller ships Pinta and Niña, the Santa Maria was one of the expedition ships on Christopher Columbus' world-famous explorations. In August 1492, Columbus set out to explore a sea route to India and instead discovered America. However, in December 1492, the Santa Maria then ran aground off the island of Hispaniola, which today corresponds to Haiti and the Dominican Republic, and could not be salvaged. For investors the premium bullion coin is delivered per 20 coins in the original tube of the Mint.
