The first coin from the new series "Prehistoric Life" from the Congo is dedicated to the Tyrannosaurus Rex (short: T-Rex). The motive of the bullion coin struck from one ounce of 99.99% pure silver depicts a T-Rex with its prey. Mountains, forests and two other dinosaurs can be seen in the background. Next to the T-Rex, the inscriptions "TYRANNOSAURUS REX", "68 - 66 MIO YEARS BC" and the year of issue 2020 are shown. The motive is framed by the name of the series "PREHISTORIC LIFE" as well as a timeline indicating the prehistoric epochs Triassic, Jurassic and Cretaceous. The Tyrannosaurus Rex roamed the earth during the time of the Late Cretaceous. The gigantic carnivore, whose name means "King of the Tyrannic Lizards", reached a body length of up to 13 meters and weighed up to 7 tons. The reverse of the coin shows the coat of arms of the Democratic Republic of Congo. The limited silver bullion coin is delivered in a protective capsule.
