The new series of the Royal Mint celebrates the music legends of Great Britain. The second issue is dedicated to the British Singer Elton John. With 300 million records sold, Elton John is one of the five performers with the most sold records worldwide. His most successful release is the single "Candle in the Wind". Originally released in 1973, it was only with a rewritten text that it attracted worldwide attention and was sold about 37 million times. In 1997, Elton John sang the song at the funeral of his friend Diana, Princess of Wales, at Westminster Abbey. The motive of the coin features a hat, a bow tie and glasses in the shape of a note - a typical stage outfit of the eccentric artist. The inscription "ELTON JOHN" and a segment of the British flag are also part of the design. The reverse shows the portrait of Queen Elizabeth II and the denomination "2 Pounds". The limited silver bullion coin was struck by the Royal Mint from one ounce of 99.9% silver and is delivered in a protecting capsule.
