Struck in 2020 from 1 ounce of 99.9% silver in uncirculated quality, this is the world´s first Kiwi Coin with Black Nickel Plating. The silver coin features an Okarito Kiwi (Apteryx Rowi), the rarest species of Kiwi. The motive also contains the inscriptions "ONE DOLLAR", "APTERYX ROWI" and "2020". The reverse depicts the portrait of Queen Elizabeth II and "NEW ZEALAND", ".999 Ag 1oz", "ELIZABETH II" and "2020". The Okarito Kiwi is a flightless bird which is native in the Okarito Forest on the West Coast of New Zealand's South Island. The species is described as new since 2003. The Kiwi Silver Coin with Black Nickel is limited to 7,500 pieces worldwide. The coin is delivered in an illustrated blistercard.
