The Premium Bullion Coin was struck by the New Zealand Mint from one ounce of 99.9% silver and is dedicated to Green Lantern™. It is the sixth release in the DC Comics™ Bullion Coin Series featuring the famous superheroes of the DC universe. The motive features Green Lantern™ in his iconic superhero suit while he delivers a powerful blow. His superhuman powers are underlined by a comic-typical vector graphic. To his right is the official Green Lantern logo. In the background, the skyline of a city is visible. The reverse shows the portrait of Queen Elizabeth II and the inscriptions "TWO DOLLARS", "ELIZABETH II", "2022" and "NIUE".

Green Lantern's first appearance was in 1940 in the All-American-Comic - issue '16. Unlike many other superheroes, Green Lantern™ does not derive his strength from a mutation or extraterrestrial origin, but from a highly developed and magical technology in the form of a ring. The logo is often seen as an interpretation of this very powerful ring. Depending on the wearer's skill and willpower, he can materialize almost anything with it. The superhero himself belongs to a small but powerful unit that stands up for law and justice throughout the universe, called the Green Lantern Corps™.
