The motive depicts Aladdin, his monkey Abu and Princess Jasmine on the flying carpet. The silhouette of Genie can also be seen in the background, rising from the magical lamp. Aladdin™ was released in 1992 and hit German theaters on November 18, 1993. The plot of the film is based on the story "Aladin and the magic lamp" from the "Tales of 1001 Nights" - however, numerous elements of the Disney classic deviate significantly from the original story. The film is about the poor but kind-hearted street thief Aladdin, who accidentally comes across a magical lamp and, with the help of the lamp spirit Genie, tries to win the favor of Princess Jasmine with the help of the lamp spirit Genie. However, Jasmine is to be obliged by the Sultan, her father, to marry the sinister Grand Vizier Jafar.
