This rectangular coin in color was issued on the occasion of the 40th anniversary of E.T.™ - The Extraterrestrial. Struck from one ounce of 99.9% silver, the coin recreates the original movie poster for "E.T. - The Extraterrestrial". The motive features Elliott and E.T.'s fingers touching in the foreground. The iconic scene of Elliott and E.T. riding to the moon together on a bicycle is depicted in the background. The reverse shows the official coat of arms of Niue as well as the weight, fineness, the year of issue "2022", the denomination "TWO DOLLARS" and the copyright.

"E.T. - The Extra-Terrestrial" is one of the most successful feature films ever produced. Director Steven Spielberg's masterpiece is about the extraordinary friendship that develops between an alien stranded on Earth and a ten-year-old boy named Elliott. Elliott, who also shares a telepathic link with E.T., tries to integrate the alien on Earth - but the latter is driven by great homesickness, which he divulges by famously saying "E.T. phone home".
