"Shrek" was released in 2001 and at the time was the most elaborate computer-animated motion picture ever produced. The motive features the grumpy but no less lovable ogre Shrek™ and the chatty and venturesome companion Donkey. The reverse features the Niue coat of arms and the inscriptions "TWO DOLLARS" and "2021". In the film, Lord Farquaad™ has numerous fairy tale characters occupy the swamp that is home to the staunchly solitary Shrek™ in an attempt to persuade the green ogre to rescue Princess Fiona™. Accompanied by a talking donkey, Shrek™ eventually embarks on an adventurous journey that later evolves into a romance, illuminating the sensitive side of the supposedly rude ogre.
