The fifth issue of the Celestial Animals Series is dedicated to the Black Turtle. The Premium Bullion Coin was struck from one ounce of 99.9% silver and shows the Chinese mythical creature "Turtle". The reverse depicts the portrait of Queen Elizabeth II as well as the denomination and year of issue. In Chinese Feng Shui, each of the five elements is represented by a different animal. This traditional philosophical teaching from China is based on the harmony of spaces and the influence of certain elements on people. The Black Turtle (also "Black Warrior") is associated with the element "Water", the cardinal direction "North" and the season "Winter". This mythical creature is not exclusively a turtle, but a combination of turtle and snake - as the creature is also depicted on the motive of this coin. In Feng Shui teachings, the turtle traditionally represents protection, stability and permanence.
