The fourth issue of the series Icons of Inspiration is dedicated to Albert Einstein. The motive was designed by coin designer Joel Iskowitz and features an image of the eminent scientist with folded hands and a thoughtful look. Below the portrait, Einstein's signature is engraved, as well as his world-famous physical formula E=mc2. The background features three planets on a gird-like pattern that mimics the shape of a black hole. The reverse displays a triumphant image of a muse stretching her arm towards the sun. Also included in the design is the official coat of arms of Niue, as well as the denomination and year of issue.

Born on March 14th, 1897 in the German city of Ulm, Albert Einstein was one of the most important physicists and mathematicians in history. Through his research about the structure of time and space, known as the theory of relativity, he significantly changed the previously valid Newtonian worldview. To this day, general relativity remains one of the cornerstones of modern physics. One of Einstein's other major research areas was quantum physics, for which he was awarded the Nobel Prize in 1921. Not only did Einstein changed the scientific world with his theoretical work, but he also used his recognition to advocate for international relations, peace and socialism worldwide. In 1955, the physicist died at the age of 76 from internal bleeding caused by an aneurysm in his aorta.
