The Premium Bullion coin is dedicated to the Bird of paradise - the national emblem of Papua New Guinea. Struck from one ounce of 99.9% silver, the motive features a detailed image of a bird of paradise in flight. The background is artistically designed and features a traditional pattern. Also included in the design are the inscription "BIRD OF PARADISE" as well as the weight, fineness and year of issue of the coin. The reverse shows the bird of paradise within the Papua New Guinea coat of arms. He sits with broadly fanned tail feathers on a ceremonial spear of the natives in front of an hourglass-shaped wooden drum ("kundu"). The inscription "PAPUA NEW GUINEA" and the denomination complete the design.

Birds of paradise are exotic birds of which a total of 41 species are known. They belong to the order of passerine birds (Passeriformes) within the family Paradisaeidae and are mainly native to New Guinea. The males are distinguished by their particularly colorful plumage and have always been considered a great source of inspiration - not only for the local population, but also for artists around the world. The mintage is limited to only 10,000 pieces worldwide. The Bird of Paradise silver bullion coin is delivered in a protective capsule.
