The 2023 issue Somalia Elephant of the popular African Wildlife Series was struck from one ounce of 99.99% pure silver. The African Wildlife Series is characterized by an annually changing motive and is very popular with investors worldwide. The coin depicts the African Wildlife Elephant design from 2023, which shows the head of a fully grown elephant as he wraps his trunk around a hanging branch. The African steppe landscape is outlined in the background. In addition, the design has a special feature in form of a Privy Mark 'Year of the Rabbit'. At the edge of the coin are the inscriptions "AFRICAN WILDLIFE" and "ELEPHANT", "1 oz" and the fineness "Ag 999.9". The reverse features the Somalian state coat of arms, which depicts a shield with a star supported by two leopards. Below this symbol are two traditional spears and two Palm leaves and the inscriptions "SOMALI REPUBLIC 2023 100 SHILLINGS".
