The new Somalia Leopard 2022 of the popular African Wildlife Series was struck from one ounce of 99.99% pure silver with a gilded design. The African Wildlife Series from Somalia is released annually with a changing leopard motive and is extremely popular among collectors and investors worldwide. The gilded motive features a leopard standing on a rock. Other rocks are depicted in the foreground and background and the grasses typical of the African savannah grow up between them. The inscriptions "AFRICAN WILDLIFE", "LEOPARD" and "1 oz Ag 999.9" surround the design. The reverse shows the national coat of arms of the Republic of Somalia, which depicts the Somalia flag and two leopards. The denomination and year of issue are also included in the design. The Leopard (Panthera pardus) is a loner common in Africa and Asia, and belongs to the most graceful and powerful big cats on earth along with lion, tiger and jaguar. It is an excellent climber and, unlike most other big cats, can also climb down head first. Its excellent climbing ability also benefits the leopard in securing its prey - it often drags hunted animals up into trees several meters high, where lions and hyenas can no longer reach them.
