The rare 5 Oz silver coin from the India Wildlife Series is dedicated to the Macaque. The motive features a detailed image of a macaque against a strikingly patterned background. The inscriptions "FIVE OUNCE", "CASH", and "999 SILVER" surround the design. The reverse features the portrait of King Charles III as well as the denomination and year of issue.

The macaque is a primate species from the macaque genus within the guenon family. It lives in southwestern India and its population is threatened. The fur of the bearded monkey is dark brown or black, the most prominent feature is the silvery-white mane that surrounds the head at the cheeks and chin and to which this monkey owes its German name.
