The Diwali Festival is a multi-day Hindu festival of lights and is considered as one of the most important holidays in India and Nepal. The joyous festival is celebrated annually by millions of Hindus, Sikhs, Jains and some Buddhists around the world. The core message of the festival is the triumph of light over darkness, goodness over evil, knowledge of ignorance and hope over despair. The motive of the 1 ounce silver coin shows a colored representation of Ganesha holding a lotus flower and a hatchet. At his feet sits a mouse. The colorful design includes the words "happy diwali" and the traditional "P" mintmark of the Perth Mint. The value page of the coin depicts Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II's Ian Rank Broadley portrait. The design also includes the inscriptions "TUVALU 2018", "ELIZABETH II", "1 oz 9999 Ag" and "1 DOLLAR". The uncirculated coin is presented in a clear acrylic case, allowing both sides of the coin to be displayed.
