"The Simpsons" are a phenomenon - since the series premiered in 1989, the production has steadily expanded its success and has now achieved cult status. The year 2018 marked a milestone in television history: "The Simpsons" became the longest-running television series ever to be broadcast in prime time. Meanwhile, the stories around Homer, Marge and Co. can be seen in 60 countries and 20 languages.

This 2022 coin was struck by the Perth Mint from one ounce of 99.99% pure silver in uncirculated quality and is a homage to the "Treehouse of Horror", also known as "The Simpsons Halloween Specials". The colored motive features skeletonised images of Homer, Marge, Bart, Lisa and Maggie Simpson sitting on the iconic family couch. The copyright "©20TV", the mint mark "P" from the Perth Mint, the signature of Matt Groening and the inscription "The Simpsons - Treehouse of Horror" are also part of the design. The Ian Rank-Broadley portrait of Queen Elizabeth II, the year of issue 2022, the weight "1oz", the fineness "9999 Ag" and the monetary denomination "1 DOLLAR" are featured on the reverse. The officially licensed coin is housed in a transparent acrylic holder, allowing it to be presented on both sides. The colored coin is delivered in the original packaging with a glow in the dark varnish on the Treehouse of Horror logo as well as a numbered certificate of authenticity.
