The fifth issue of the series Age of Sails is dedicated to the Golden Hind. The colored motive presents the ship from the back with hoisted sails on a stormy sea as well as a small portait of Sir Francis Drake. Below the ship are the name "Golden Hind" and the year of issue. The reverse features the American bald eagle and the 13 stars of the founding states. The words "UNITED STATES OF AMERICA" and "1OZ. FINE SILVER - ONE DOLLAR" are framing the Eagle design. The Golden Hind, originally called the Pelican, was Sir Francis Drake's flagship, with which he became the first Englishman to sail around the world between 1577 and 1580. His fleet consisted of five ships with 164 people on board. It was the second documented circumnavigation of the world after Ferdinand Magellan from Spain. The galleon Golden Hind was completely reconstructed from 1971 to 1973 and can be visited in a London museum in England. The limited Golden Hint silver coin in color is delivered in a capsule including a product card.
