The coin from the Royal Australian Mint is dedicated to the stellar constellation 'Emu in the Sky'. The constellation is a so-called dark constellation, which is not composed of stars but of the dark clouds between the star constellations. The 'Emu in the Sky' is of great mythical importance for the Aborigines. The Australian Aborigines are considered the first astronomers in history - they used the stars as maps, weather forecasts, calendars and last but not least as a basis for their stories. The motive of the coin features a representation of the 'Emu in the Sky', designed by the artist Scott Towney from the Wiradjuri tribe. The background shows the star-studded night sky in color. In addition, three Aborigines, another emu on its nest and the inscription "THE EMU IN THE SKY" are also depicted. The reverse features the Jody Clark portrait of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II. and the inscriptions "ELIZABETH II", "AUSTRALIA", "1 DOLLAR" and "2020". The limited silver coin is delivered in the original box of the Royal Australian Mint including a certificate of authenticity.
