The first issue of the new series by the Royal Australian Mint is dedicated to the world's largest living crocodile today - the saltwater crocodile (Crocodylus porosus). The silver coin in proof quality features the detailed skeleton of a "Saltie" with its mouth wide open. Its right claw is placed on an image of the Australian continent. The reverse of the coin depicts the Jody Clark effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II and the inscriptions "ELIZABETH II", "AUSTRALIA" and "2020". Saltwater crocodiles can grow up to 6 meters long and reach an age of 70 years. They are native to saltwater habitats, but can also live in fresh water. Since the 1970s, saltwater crocodiles have enjoyed special protection as an endangered species. The limited silver coin is delivered in the original box including a certificate of authenticity.
