The second issue of the new Dreaming Down Under Series is dedicated to the Koala and was struck by the Perth Mint from a 1/2 ounce of 99.99% pure silver. The colorful motive shows a baby koala sleeping in a lovingly lined nest, surrounded by colorful Australian flowers and wildlife. The weight and fineness are featured on the bottom edge of the coin. The reverse shows the Jody Clark effigy of Queen Elizabeth II, as well as the denomination and year of issue. All motives of the Dreaming Down Under Series were illustrated by the Australian artist Elise Martinson. The inspiration for the series was the photography of newborn babies in baskets - a trend that is very popular with parents worldwide. Here, the newborn is depicted in a dreamy setting and usually sleeping in a basket. The limited Dreaming Down Under - Koala silver proof coin is delivered in the original box including a numbered certificate of authenticity of the Perth Mint.
