The third and final issue in the Series Echoes of Australian Fauna is dedicated to the Night Parrot. The motive in the middle of the black nickel coin is gilded. The Night Parrot (Pezoporus occidentalis) is a small ground-dwelling nocturnal parrot which can only be found in Australia. Until recently it was thought to be extinct, but currently the population is about 50 - 250 animals. The species is listed as very endangered. The reverse features the portrait of Queen Elizabeth II and the inscriptions 'AUSTRALIA', '2019', 'ELIZABETH II' and '5 DOLLARS'. This special gilded black nickel coin is limited to only 5,000 pieces worldwide. The coin is delivered in the original box including a numbered certificate of the Royal Australian Mint.
