The 2026 High Relief Silver Coin is dedicated to the Australian Kangaroo, one of Australia's most famous landmarks. The coin was struck by the Perth Mint from one ounce of 99.99% pure silver in proof quality. The colorful motive features two kangaroos leaping through shallow water. In the background, water ripples, splashes, and a distant mountain landscape can be seen. The privy mark with the number "40" commemorates the 40th anniversary of the Australian Kangaroo. The inscription "KANGAROO", the mintmark "P" of the Perth Mint, the year of issue and information on the weight and fineness complete the design. The reverse shows the Dan Thorne portrait of King Charles III and the denomination.

The kangaroo (Macropodidae) is one of the most well-known representatives of the marsupials, along with the koala, and lives on the southern continent of Australia. Over 60 different species of Australia's most famous landmark can be found there. Full-grown kangaroos can jump up to 10 meters and reach a maximum speed of over 70 km/h. Their diet consists mainly of leaves and grass. Depending on the species, the marsupials can live solitary or in groups. Their natural enemies include dingoes and birds of prey.
