The gilded silver coin is dedicated to the Australian Kangaroo - one of Australia's most famous landmarks. The coin was struck by the Perth Mint from two ounces of 99.99% pure silver in proof quality. The motive depicts a full-grown kangaroo jumping over a dried-up riverbed. In the background are a wind turbine and a water tank, which are typically found on Australian farms and are part of the vital infrastructure in rural areas. While the kangaroo in the foreground appears in silver, the entire background has been gilded with 24-carat gold. The inscriptions "KANGAROO" and "2 Oz 9999 Silver", the year of issue "2024" and the mintmark "P125", which refers to the 125th anniversary of the Perth Mint are also included in the design. The reverse features the Dan Thorne portrait of King Charles III and the denomination. The mintage is limited to 3,000 pieces worldwide.
