The 2021 issue of the Australian Kookaburra silver coin is again being released this year as a High Relief coin with a 24-carat gold plated motive. Depicted is a kookaburra sitting on a branch with leaves. The outer ring of the coin has also been gilded, thus giving this coin a very unique look. The design also includes the inscriptions 'AUSTRALIAN KOOKABURRA', the year of issue, the weight and fineness and the mint mark 'P' of the Perth Mint. The reverse of the coin shows the denomination, the inscriptions 'ELIZABETH II' and 'AUSTRALIA' and the Jody Clark effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II. The 2021 Kookaburra coin was struck by the Perth Mint from an ounce of 99.99% pure silver. The Kookaburra is the largest member of the kingfisher family and the national bird of Australia. It is also called "laughing Hans" in German. It owes this name to its loud call, which is comparable to human laughter, and which it prefers to sound in the early morning and late evening. The strictly limited gilded high relief silver proof coin is delivered in the original box including a certificate of authenticity from the Perth Mint.
