This extraordinary Australian Kookaburra coin in high relief features one of Australia's most popular marsupials. Since 1990, the Perth Mint has struck the Kookaburra in different weight units and with annually changing designs. After the great success of the first issue in 2021, the Kookaburra coin is struck again this year, incused from 5 ounces of 99.99% pure silver in proof quality. The motive features two kookaburras perched on branches. They are surrounded by the Waratah flower, a native flower species of Australia and the emblem flower of the state of New South Wales. The inscription "KOOKABURRA", the traditional mintmark "P" of the Perth Mint as well as the year of issue, the weight and the fineness of the coin complete the design. The reverse shows the Jody Clark effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, supplemented with the dates of her reign, and the denomination "8 DOLLARS". The kookaburra is the largest member of the kingfisher family and the national bird of Australia. The Kookaburra incused 5 oz high relief silver coin is delivered in the original box including a numbered certificate of authenticity from the Perth Mint.
