The third issue of the new series by the Royal Australian Mint is dedicated to one of the most poisonous snakes in the world, the Western Taipan (Oxyuranus microlepidotus). The motive of the coin depicts a detailed image of the skeleton of the poisonous snake. The reverse features the Jody Clark portrait of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II and the inscriptions "ELIZABETH II", "AUSTRALIA" and "2020". The venom of the Western Taipan, also called "Inland Taipan", is fifty times more powerful than that of the Indian cobra. The Western Taipan is rather shy and prefers to live in remote desert landscapes in South-Western Queensland. The limited silver coin is delivered in the original box including a certificate of authenticity.
