Description
Australian Brumby
2 Oz Silver - Proof - High Relief
- 99.99% Silver
- Limited Mintage only 1,000 pieces
- With Certificate of Authenticity
- Delivery in original Box
The coin struck by the Perth Mint from two ounces of 99.99% silver is dedicated to the Australian Brumby. The Australian wild horses known as "Brumbies" were once horses of the soldier James Brumby. In 1801 he was transferred from Sydney to Vandiemensland (today: Tasmania) and was forced to release a number of horses into the bush. The horses have successfully adapted despite the hostile environment and have become iconic of Australia's national character. The motive of the silver coin shows one of the wild horses galloping through water. The traditional Mintmark "P" of the Perth Mint, the fineness of the coin and the year of issue are also included in the design. The reverse shows the portrait of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II as well as the denomination. The strictly limited high relief silver coin in proof quality is delivered in the original box including a certificate of authenticity from the Perth Mint.
