1 Oz Silver - Proof
- 99,99% Silver
- Mintage 5,000 pieces

Since 2014, the Australian Perth Mint has been shaping an annually changing motive of the wedge-tailed eagle on its coins. The majestic bird of prey is almost as tall as a golden eagle and native to all of Australia and the surrounding area. The 1 Dollar coin depicts a large wedge-tailed eagle with a cub in the nest. In the background, a second wedge-tailed eagle can be seen in the approach. The all-round lettering is called "AUSTRALIAN WEDGE-TAILED EAGLE", the year of embossing "2018", the fine weight "1oz" and the fineness "9999 SILVER". On the other side of the coin is the portrait of Queen Elizabeth II. For the design of the coin design, the Perth Mint commissioned the American engraver and coin designer John M. Mercanti for the third time. Mercanti is the 12th Chief Engraver of the U.S. Mint and one of the most famous engravers of our time. His works include, among others, the American Silver Eagle. The coin was embossed by the Perth Mint from an ounce 99.99% pure silver in proof quality. The silver coin is housed in a gray case and comes with a numbered certificate of authenticity and the illustrated original packaging.
