The 2021 edition of the Wedge-Tailed Eagle is the sixth design by the famous engraver John M. Mercanti. The motive of the High Relief Silver Proof coin depicts a Wedge-Tailed Eagle - Australia's largest bird of prey - in flight. In its claws it holds a snake it has just captured. The motive is framed by the inscriptions "AUSTRALIAN WEDGE-TAILED EAGLE" and "2021 1oz 9999 SILVER". The traditional mintmark "P" of the Perth Mint is also included in the design. The reverse shows the effigy of Queen Elizabeth II and the denomination. The Wedge-Tailed eagle is one of the biggest eagles in the world. Its impressive wings measure a wingspan of up to 2.7 meters.
