This silver coin was struck in brilliant High Relief from ten ounces of 99.99% pure silver and is dedicated to Australia's largest bird of prey, the Wedge-Tailed Eagle. The motive features the seventh Wedge-Tailed Eagle design of the famous engraver John M. Mercanti. The silver coin depicts the head of a Wedge-Tailed Eagle - Australia's largest bird of prey. The detailed design highlights the eagle's plumage, eyes and large, hooked beak. In addition the inscriptions "AUSTRALIAN WEDGE-TAILED EAGLE", "2022 10oz 9999 SILVER" and the traditional Mintmark "P" of the Perth Mint are included in the design. The reverse shows the effigy of Queen Elizabeth II and the denomination. The Wedge-Tailed eagle is one of the biggest eagles in the world and Australia's largest bird of prey. Its impressive wings measure a wingspan of up to 2.7 meters.
