The Perth Mint already took the Wedge-tailed Eagle to new heights in 2018 and has currently struck the Wedge-tailed Eagle for the second time with a thickness of 6.42 mm in Piedfort proof quality. Piedfort means the double thickness of a regular coin of the same weight and metal. Designed by the 12th Chief Engraver of the U.S. Mint, John M. Mercanti, this stunning silver coin features a magnificent wedge-tailed eagle in flight with wings fully extended and stylised rays of sunlight in the background. The year '2019', the weight '2oz', the purity '9999 SILVER' and the Perth Mint’s traditional 'P' mintmark are included in the design. The limited Wedge-tailed Eagle Piedfort Coin is delivered in the original box of the Perth Mint, including a numbered certificate of authenticity.
