The 2024 edition of the Wedge-Tailed Eagle was struck by the Perth Mint from three ounces of 99.99% pure silver in proof quality and celebrates the 10th anniversary of the Wedge-Tailed Eagle. The motive has been designed for the ninth time by the famous US Mint engraver John M. Mercanti. It features a soaring wedge-tailed eagle - the largest bird of prey in Australia - with outstretched wings against a patterned background and stylized sunbeams. The design is framed by the inscriptions "AUSTRALIAN WEDGE-TAILED EAGLE, "10th ANNIVERSARY" and "2024 3oz 9999 SILVER". The mintmark "P125" indicates the 125th anniversary of the Perth Mint. The reverse shows the effigy of King Charles III, the denomination and a Privy Mark depicting a wedge-tailed eagle landing on a branch.

The Wedge-Tailed eagle is one of the biggest eagles in the world. Its wings measure a wingspan of up to 2.7 meters. The impressive animal is mostly native to Australia, Tasmania and southern Papua New Guinea and feeds mainly on reptiles and small mammals. The Wedge-Tailed Eagle 3 oz silver proof coin is delivered in the original box including a numbered certificate of authenticity from the Perth Mint.
